Treat her like a friend to a certain extent. If he wants to develop a relationship with the girl he needs to make sure his intentions of courting her are known other wise she will see him as a friend and won't consider him as a potential romantic interest. Its not rocket science but what you are suggesting puts a lot of guys in the friend zone.

Yes, but does he want this to be a hookup or a stable romantic relationship? If the girl is indeed popular she'll just see him as another guy wanting to get in her pants when in fact he wants to get to know her and hang out with her. Thus, he must prove that he wants to get to know her for a fufilling relationship/friendship rather than for the sake of going out.

I am . I agree, your advice is helpful but OP says that he's only met her briefly a couple times. It's even a little creepy to ask her out on a date somewhere after what, the third conversation? He doesn't even know her that well. That being said, once you have a friendship going with her Albie it's ok to ask her out on dates and things.

You don't get advice on fishing from a fish. You speak to people who have experience in whatever you need advice on, other fishermen. I can't say this for certain but its likely Platinum isn't a male that is trying to entice the ladies. I am giving the advice that has succeed for me and many other men.

Platinum has a good point for how to behave if you are wanting to be strictly friends or you are already in a relationship with said person. Its a great bit of information but not practical for the desired outcome in this scenario.

Um, what? Not to stereotype or anything, but I think I would know what a girl would want lmao. Definitely not wanting to be treated as a conquest like you seem to be implying. She's a person, not some prize to be won for following the correct steps.


TL;DR: If you want a stable relationship be her friend first; get to know her. If you want sex then go straight for it. She's not a conquest, but a person

First, nobody implied the girl was a conquest or the goal was to get in the girls pants. He asked advice on taking her out to a date and I responded with a logical response on how to establish a "romantic" relationship so it does not end up as a "friendship". I even recommended suggestions on ways to approach the date and even encouraged that he did NOT bring her home on the first date if he wanted to establish a emotional relationship. (Also asking a girl out on dates after seeing her a few times is not creepy, anybody who dates is typically cool with this.)

Your commentary on this subject is very important, but its also important to understand simply stating just to be her friend will not help him romantically but could possibly ruin his chances at forming a stable relationship since she will begin to view him as a friend. If he has feelings for this girl then there is nothing wrong with being straight forward with her and asking her out.

Again, you provided a great tip of advice but it was not very applicable in this situation. I'm quite confused. Instead of doing what a girl wants (which, by the way, if you want to date or be friends with a girl then you should probably try and approach her in a way she is comfortable with), you'd rather take a "practical" approach (practical approaches do not always work)?

Your advice is good but I think Platinum does know what she is talking about. No matter what type of "situation" you are in with a girl, girls always like to be approached in a certain way, whether you are dating her or you're just friends.

Here's my advice for Albie: if you want to have a stable relationship with her, then you need to get to know her better and start off as friends. If you try to dive in too quickly, she might see it as you are trying to hook-up or something. Like Shurikan said, don't be too friendly, but at the same time make sure she is comfortable around you first. Ask her if she ever wants to get coffee with you or if she wants to go to the park. These don't even need to be dates, they can just start off as two friends hanging out. This is usually how most relationships start out. Shurikan's advice is still helpful, and you need to make sure you don't end up in the friend-zone. Slowly over time, she will start to get more comfortable with you. Try to get her Snapchat or her Instagram, and in general just try talking to her more. But at the same time, don't rush anything or else she might feel uncomfortable.

in my experience movie dates are no-no's for the first couple of dates. you don't really get to know someone since talking is frowned upon. activity dates are always great for getting to know people and staying involved
