No, candidates get money from individual donations, and from wealthy businesses/businessmen. Not sure if any candidate has self-funded their own campaign before.

I respect that, and a few other things he's said (not getting into those things) but I still think he'd be a bad president. |

If you have $20m and someone gifts you $1m to you to buy a small house, you aren't in desperate need of that. You're grateful, but that isn't affecting you on the same level as someone who has $20k with $1m gifted to them. People who are in actual need of money begin to feel dependent on donors and are easier to manipulate. |

Literally every other thread here does that for Sanders: https://www.reddit.com/r/sandersforpresident (subreddit was purchased by someone affiliated with his campaign BTW) I'm not saying that's wrong, I'm saying that it opens him up to a certain type of vulnerability that Trump isn't susceptible to. Trump cannot be bought, because Trump does not need anyone's money. So, if it pleases you, I'll gladly reword "Trump's campaign is 100% self-funded" as "Trump's campaign is funded by his own cash, but he accepts generous donations on a small button if you manage to find it on his website." I think it'd actually be arrogant and rude if he didn't accept voluntary donations from people who want to give him their money. |

Uh, because he has the right to accept anyone's donation that they are offering to him? Why is Bernie Sanders sending media teams to social media sites like Reddit to constantly beg for phone bankers and donations? Why is Clinton accepting millions from speeches in front of major corporations? You say, "And doesn't it kinda make him an ass to take money from people when he has enough money for 10 campaigns?" but how does Sanders look with his team begging for contributions when they're on a clear path for losing the nomination right now? I'm not seeing whatever point you're trying to make... |

"My candidate is poorer than yours, so it's fair for him to accept donations" Shame on Trump for being a successful businessman unlike Sanders |

An anti-trump supporter will never convince a trump-supporter.
