Is Melee on the Wii U virtual console? If not, I'll go out and buy a GameCube. I want to play competitive Smash, but only got Sm4sh 3DS. Also heard Melee is like the best game to practice advanced techniques |

Melee much more in depth than Smash 4 for sure. You can play Melee on a Wii also if you have one.

Like mentionned above, the Wii U can't play Gamecube games, but the Wii can. If you want to play online, install "Dolphin" on your PC, then look up a dolphin netplay guide. |

It's cool to see more people get into melee buying a Wii would be the least expensive option, besides downloading dolphin for PC, but the problem with this is the input lag you get from it. If you have any CRT's that's what you should be playing on, otherwise, there are lagless monitors you can buy but this requires an adapter. Like yog said, you can softmod your Wii which allows you to play games from a USB stick so you don't have to go out and buy a melee disk (which are pretty damn expensive these days) I'm always down to talk some melee so hit me up sometime.Or.... You can wait for Melee HD to come out..... Eventually.... |

on wiiU you can homebrew melee on it and play. Otherwise don't bother with VC, be a champ and go old school gamecube and a CRT like the cool kids. Also you avoid those pesky entry fees if you bring a set up to tournaments. MAKE SURE for the love of god if your playing melee it is on a CRT TV. Not an HDTV. HDTV with composite connection (the red yellow white cords) give an insane amount of input lag since thats not HD and the HDTV processes that crap into HD. Buy a CRT, go to local TV store, ask if they have CRTs they cost less than 10$ and most of the time free. I got a 18 inch CRT for free. if you have 3ds smash your fine as long as you have a remote for wiiU. Theres a remote i used for smash that is legal and transfers your 3ds strats over to wiiU very nicely. http://www.amazon.com/Mini-Pro-Elite.../dp/B00HNWZE18 it has wireless and wired so its tournament legal and i won tournaments with it in my 3ds days. It feels like a 3ds with the triggers and the button length is the same distance as 3ds. Along with that your pull on the joystick is the same as a 3ds circle pad. My B button wore down on it after 6 months because duck hunt, replaced the spring in it. I like it. |
