If you guys think 1K is easier then why don't you just stick to 1k hats instead so you get exactly what you want?

Gotta say, that's kinda poor logic considering the comparitive comeback is, "If you can't handle editing a hat every 3 months, why don't you not apply as staff?" Most people aren't even insisting that staff should be responsible for the edits anyway.

I was also told (i don't remember if it was you or the other guy) that I have no idea what a good prize is simply because I never won a GST. That's why I said you don't need to win a GST to know what prize you would want if you did win.

I don't see the point in staff taking their time to make a quality hat, just to have the players want to edit it. If that was the case, they might as well actually submit their own upload.

Damn. I never knew I would just be so passionately attacked by many simply because I disliked the idea of a custom hat for GST prize.

bruh. i voted no too, so ur wrong about that. I'm just so amazed that you said something ******ed as saying that towering is harder than winning a GST and that there is some magical way of going around the system to win a GST.

that's why alumni just want to upload their own hat LOL
looking at 2 diff version of MDR hats. yeah alumnis gst hats gonna be good.
and if 'custom gst hat' happens, thallen is probably going to upload same hat for both idev and mixed with gst letter on it.

but the problem is:
alumni is prepared ok, but what about the other group who place/win?
they don't have gfx artists or a hat in their mind. you see where i am going with this?
that's why in the past, i have suggested the prelayout/outline hats etc.  

Let's give GST winners giant swords that gives them a 10+ pixel reach over everyone else! That would be fair! The point remains: we don't want that ****.

Lol. The GFX themselves don't determine how far you can hit other players. The size would have no affect on the reach to hit a player. You seem emotional, which I guess is clouding your common sense, considering you have that to begin with.

Maybe GST hats should work like 1k hat. After the winners are chosen they can design their own hat and submit it for approval. The prize for second and third places would need to be changed though.

I do not agree on changing a hat that has already been uploaded to the server.

Editing a hat that I already put time into and received criticism from other GFX staff to make sure the hat was as top notch as my ability would allow, instead of putting my time towards things that aren't the GST or maybe the other 18 GST hats that need to be made that year?  

I think it would be fine if there was a small adjustment like adding A for Alumni for example or just a different color? Otherwise idk, up to the staff but don't see it that big a deal.

No one's saying you have to edit it, people just want to have the option of having it edited (by anyone) so that it resembles the guild in some way and I really don't see an issue with that...

Like I posted before, here's an example of an original GST hat:


And then edited versions:


You really have an issue with that? That isn't an edit to say, "Wow man, your GFX is ****." It's saying, "Can we do something to maybe reflect our guild's colors or name?"
You can even argue that the symbol on the original one even looks better, but it's cool to have symbolization and personalization for your guild as a sign of actually achieving something. It actually looks like a GST hat after that.

I think that if a guild can submit a hat with simple edits like that within a week of the GST, they should be able to have it uploaded one time only.  

As Thallen said and showed, it isn't the end of the world. Small minor adjustment to accommodate the winners, it's only fair. It's not like they're saying your gfx is **** but it should accommodate the ones who have won.  

Still don't understand why you can't just 1K for a custom hat.
