Animal Crossing 3DS
I'm considering buying a 3DS or the one after the 3DS, just to play Animal Crossing again. The nostalgia is killing me. Anyone else remember the golden days of Tom Nook?

Meh... almost all the Animal Crossing games are exactly the same. It gets boring fast, especially since the nerfed the absolute hell out of fishing.

Animal Crossing 3ds looks pretty neat, tbh. I love Animal Crossing, but the old ones got boring...in the new one, you basically just have more options for decorating and such... Plus, the city map looked quite interesting. There seems to be multiple sections now. The beach has its own section, theres a city (of course), and some other places. Idk, i'll probably buy it. Play for a while, play with people online, then not touch it for months.

Fish in the Gamecube version then play the ones after(DS and Wii), it's pretty apparent that fishing was nerfed to tone down the money you could make in it. Back on the Gamecube it was pretty easy to do good fishing, especially on a rainy morning. Now if you're lucky on a rainy morning you'll pull in 50k or so, and that's IF you're lucky. Sea basses are not only way more common but also look like large fish now. Your fishing line now moves towards the shore rather than outwards like in the Gamecube version, making it much harder to attract the attention of fish. In the Wii version if you attract a fish it also has a chance of "teasing" the line where it nibbles and runs off, which is a slap in the face after spending a few minutes trying to get the bobber in the right spot. It's all just a way more painful experience to try to push the other forms of money-making on the players even though they still suck. I hardly fished in the Wii version at all, even on rainy days. It's just that bad. |

I feel like there's so many improvements that could be made but Nintendo's just being lazy. It would be a very cool MMO, btw. |

Well, I feel like the new animal crossing games are good for random people who just happen to pick them up, and not necessarily those who have stuck with the series for several years. I mean there's some who will be excited enough about the little things to be content, but... |

Not good for the 'hardcore' gamer? Animal Crossing? Are these two part of the same subject? o_O You do realize Animal Crossing is about interior decorating, making friends with animals, and leisurely activities... If by 'hardcore' gamers you mean 'people who only like CoD and bash Nintendo games', then...I don't think they would be playing Animal Crossing in the first place. Nintendo knows the audience of Animal Crossing, and they keep the same formula. Which is ok for some people, but I never picked up *City Folk, so...obviously its not ok for me. However, the improvements in the 3DS version (or what I can see) are enough for me to get it...so, Nintendo is doing something right with this franchise. A lot of people seem excited for the game. |

I have the DS and Wii versions. I never play either of them anymore. My towns are probably full of weeds and random other crap.

But since the village will be larger than any of the other games in the series, it seems like it would be silly to have only one house... One of the new features is that you can fully customize the outside of your house. Fence, mailbox, etc. So, it would be weird to have everyone in a single house, then have them fighting over what the outside would look like. ![]() In this game, you're the mayor of the town...so maybe everyone gets their own town? Or the choice to live in a pre-existing town? Idk. lol http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/29090 Thats pretty much all we know about the game so far. |
