Being proud of someone?
Okay let's say a dad of two daughters one daughter has a shop and the other daughter works at a store, should the dad treat the daughter that works at a store differently? If yes explain why correctly without being rude or going off topic. (Should someone that is doing better in life be treat better than someone who isn't?)

If they both worked equally hard to get the job that they currently have they should be treated the same.

Not at all. Both children should be treated equally no matter what.

I'd love them the same but one would get more praise, for sure. |

At least they both have jobs. Things would be different if one worked in the shop and the other slacked off at home. |

The father should treat the daughter that is working better, because women should not be allowed to own businesses.

Love for both of them is unconditional, but love can be tough love sometimes. If you know your children are capable of doing something much more than what they're doing now, you have to let them know so. Loving your children equally has to be the given, but you also want to reward them for their accomplishments individually, not together. Upon being grown up this becomes less important, as each of the children leads their own life. They will be responsible for all their actions at this point, and it was their actions that led them to wherever they are. Because of this, loving them equally is all that there is really left to do. Just my opinion. |

But say both daughters did their best in school and work just as hard as one another, but one ended up more successful than the other then I don't think she would deserve to be treated differently. But say the reason(s) one daughter was less successful than the other was because of laziness/drugs/not giving af then yes I think she deserved to be treated differently. You can love them the same while treating them differently. You would also take into consideration how they were brought up. Was there favoritism between both of them, was one given more support than the other, stuff like that.
Example: Daughter #1 Successful doctor married to another doctor. Big house, expensive cars, but the husband cheats and her 15 year old daughter is hanging around the wrong crowed because mom and dad are too busy to give her any attention. Daughter #2 Nurse married to a mechanic. Small house, inexpensive cars, loving husband and her 15 year old daughter is the all-american girl because her parents are broke so they don't have any choice but to spend time with her. Who's doing better? Most people don't associate happiness as part of being successful. I rather be poor, but truly happy than rich and miserable. |
