In the real world, your expectations of what volunteers accomplish should be zero. Everything that a volunteer accomplishes should be considered a bonus to an organization. If you hold volunteers to be responsible to essential business, then they're no longer volunteers and they should get paid.

Tbh that post was a joke that I sent to Imprint. I guess I should have figured that some vigilante would start trying to moralize with me when I wrote it.

Attitudes can be contagious, even if it's intended to be sarcastic, and I don't want to see goodwill toward volunteers turn negative.

*clears throat* I take it you've never heard of volunteer agencies then. Volunteers sign up because they want to help. If they don't want to help(or do something) they shouldn't be there.
Of course.. there should be such flexibility that volunteers can work in their own time but there is always some kind of urgency in one way or another.
If this is what you meant, then you really need to think before you post. And no I'm not even trolling, this is just my 2 cents worth.
