What if Hitler had a sex change, won world war 2 and claimed the victory day as Autistic Day? Ifs do not help you.

My friend is autistic and uses it as an insult himself. It's the same as calling someone a f**got. The person using the insult isn't actually calling you gay, he's just trying to insult you. If someone were to say f*** you, would you perceive it as someone saying "sex you" or as an insult. Almost everyone would see that as an insult, not the literal meaning. |

It's like when Tumblr feminists go into their rants about how Suzy didn't deserve to be raped just because she was wearing revealing clothing. Shocking revelation! The problem is that you're trying to be rational and reasonable with a rapist. They don't give a damn. They're going to do what they do just because that's who they are. Telling people not to use _____ as an insult triggers the Streisand effect, because you're basically telling them which insults are the best and most effective ones. |

Sigh, so much ignorance in these forums. @MrSimmons why is it fair to call someone "autistic" as if it's a bad way? Call them something else. I didn't really make this thread to suddenly change the world, because I am aware that people wouldn't really care, but there's a ton of people who use these words and don't even understand the context of it. @twilit When you say something like "this thread is like cancer" you are using the actual word "cancer", which isn't a person and is a horrible thing all together. But when you say "this thread is as bad as a cancerous person", then it gets offensive because you are marginalizing an actual person stricken with a terrible disease as if it's something offensive. Same here: it isn't about the word "autism", but rather "autistic". |

this thread gave me autism and cancer. thanks. My cousin suffers Autism yet he calls a lot of people ******s. It really is up from person to person, I don't mind being called a ******, neither does my autistic cousin. If you suffer it and you can't endure it.., that's your personal problem. It isn't nice to cuss people at all, I agree and everyone should be respected, but meh, welcome to the internet. |

Stfu weaboo nerd with animated avatar. Nobody cares about what you say. Gawwwwd. Am... Am I doing it, guys? And for the record, as someone who's lived beside a person with autism* for their entire life, I can guarantee you that her being called autistic does not offend me, her or any one else. She has autism and that's that. If I were called autistic, I'd call BS and immediately stop caring about that person all together. |
