Can you feel it? The Classic forums aren't producing many new posts, a lot of my guildmates/allies are playing less, and those that are playing are complaining of boredom. Nexus was fantastic. New plate furniture + redesigned Red Barn & World of Mirth = Awesome. New loot? Love it. The GST was fun (for those who got in). But time has passed, and once again it feels like we're in a lull. Yes, Gralloween is on the horizon, but it's almost 2 months away.

Yes, Dusty is doing amazing work as always and never slows down. But one man can only do so much.

This is not a whining thread. This is not a complaining thread. This is a discussion thread. The main topic? Can we expect anything new between now and Graaloween? I'm sure work is already going into the Halloween festivities. But again, 2 months. Boy would I love to see a major update just come out of nowhere and blow us all away. (hint hint)  

I'd hinge my bets that most people who are playing less are doing so because school is back. If there are any "major updates" coming they aren't going to be posted in response to a thread that asks if there are any major updates coming. It just doesn't happen like that.

there will come many new things, graaloween was great, every year. Remember when Azrael told a scary story in the graalschool, or when they released the amazing maze with the skeleton morph, or the graaloween hat contest, the fantastic graaloween theater (inclusive hat- and bodyshop) and a great show!! and so many scary things that come up every graaloween.

And after graaloween it goes soo fast until it's thanksgiving. (hopefully there coming something sweet in the onnet general store )

After thanksgiving u can't get enough gralats until it's x-mas, the time u gan give your best friends a gift and hopeful you get one back

so there will be many updates the next time u can look forward and till then u can go farming, u'll need it ;)  

I have something that will bring the spice back in the mean time. What I'm talking about is bringing back an old rivalry.

The issue is the pros and cons of being transparent.

Being transparent is good for the players, but bad for the developers. It means laying out all your cards on the table and give players expectations that might not be able to be fulfilled. More importantly, it implies(even if you don't do so explicitly) timescales... If I make a post implying that some specific new content is being made, players are going to wonder where that content is every month it isn't released. Without being totally transparent(and thus spoiling the content) players can't really get up-to-date news on what kind of hurdles development encounters. Look at what happened with the railroads... it took WAY longer to make than I originally anticipated, but for good reasons. It didn't really calm the players down at all no matter how much I tried to be reassuring that it wasn't "dead" or "forgotten."

However, not being transparent means development staff doesn't have to worry about disappointing players and working at a pace optimal for quality content(which sometimes means slowing down and not rushing it). The downside is that players have no clue what's going on, and can often imply nothing is being done because there is nothing to show for it.

Also, be aware while there seems to be a lot of "pointless" content, that pointless content has a purpose. What I mean is when you release content in a game like Graal, which is heavily Zelda-influenced... releasing all the new content at one time pretty much spoils the exploration aspect. If I were to release a quest that involved say... a lost item you find in a cave and at the same time released a new NPC that just so happens to be looking for her lost item it completely ruins the aspect of piecing together clues and figuring out the quest. So this "dead" content serves an important purpose of being there to be used in the future without being obviously new. I rather not leave a bunch of pointless stuff that implies content for new players, but there is a sort of balance that needs to be achieved between not giving players false impressions and leaving a foundation for new content in the future.  

if you haven't found a simple activity like sparring, PKing, or towering that interests you yet, then you're probably never going to be satisfied with Graal  

Even sparring and pking on graal gets boring after a while. These last couple days ive been logging hours with friends and kinda role playing with the noobs at school, lol its actually not that bad.  

The thing I love about classic is that every non-hat update is professional and has a high level of quality that isn't seen on other servers. The problem I see with classic is that there's only one developer. He does a great job, but content would be created much quicker with a team.

Don't give me too much credit. I had very little to do with the last Nexus, for example.

Yea but we don't see any other developer like you on the forums giving us what we want. I say we hire the people from clash of clans who make multiplayer games, then hire them ( the developers) for a 35% equity (for reasonable ownership of the company) for beneficial help to the game(s) and then also include them in sponsoring to there several games or where they would usually put advertisements. Then allow them to fix the lag issue resolving everyone's problems. And at the most of it all more quality done within the game satisfying dusty's hard work and Graalians of all. If this is to be done. So knows what could happen with Graal in the next 1-5 years of later such improvements.

My 2 cents:
Please play and develope for Graal if you have fun with it, don't get a headache by making weird business proposals. We know ourself that the best way to make money with Graal would be to take some successful server, stop development, making it Flash or so, and make tons of advertising (advertising for and in the game). But that wouldn't be Graal. The interesting part of Graal is that the players can take part, can submit their own graphics for heads, become FAQ, get RC, make their own server, work on interesting projects. We currently have a clear plan for Graal, that is releasing v6 in the near future to make the game run fast and bring a lot of new possibilities for players and developers. But we know that Graal will not make us rich, we are happy if the subscriptions can pay for the costs of running it. That's why we take the opportunities and try to expand into other areas, including iPhone and mobile devices where the future of computing and gaming lies, and use our experience with online game.

With the release of Graaloween soon you guys should revamp dead wood as well ,its so small an boring. An maybe with release of christmas event you should revamp snowtown a little maybe make access to the middle portion with stairs an cave doors and add a yeti boss just like blob in the the trees below the tower where wen u enter u get warped to the place wher u say done, it would make snowtown poppin. Ugh I have so many ideas but I guess its gonna be awhile before u guys do stuff. Also pleaseee make se of the npcs buy the rare loot for higher prices, I currently have 4 zorbi hats, a bunch of gold pearls, wand s. Swords, magic. Crystal etc etc like so many multiples whats the point in selling them if they so rare we only need 1 of each idk but thanks for the content u put out just right now its boring I even start towerin but id have to start my own guild cause im afraid if I join say for example chain of memories when they hit their 20k they would just kick me idk so idk but please do somethin exciting cant wait thanks, even though u guys dont help me with my missing hat an ignore forum pms, ingame pms and support emails, its a legit problem an u dont even refund or even lete buy again, I legit had it an now its like im no one, spending money on a game id like replys not being ignored ;(
