CLG: 'Bootcamp' in Korea, learn nothing, get fined for account sharing after Riot miscommunication ($12k total?), come back home to get 3-0'd by Curse after Monte hyping them up like the second coming of Jesus. Poor guys. inb4 liftlift retires and gosu/chaox take ADC, also can't imagine link or dexter staying core on the team after that. |

That little amount of skill, over a large enough sample size (even about 50 games or so), will show in League and the ranking system makes it really easy to climb if you actually deserve it. I can get not being able to carry consistently if you're say, a Silver 1 playing at a Silver 3 level in a small amount of games, but since you're consistently better, you will win more often than not and League's system rewards positive win ratios more than it will punish a negative one. I see it as something like in a game of 5 Silver 3's vs. 4 Silver 3's and a Silver 1 (the guy claiming Elo hell), the latter team will win even 55-60% of the time which leads to climbing. If you win more often than not (as you should if you claim you're better than your Elo), you should climb. |

When I first started ranked in s2 I got carried to 1300 ELO(s4 Gold equivalent), and I had no clue how to play. Didn't ward, didn't last hit, played stuff like amumu bot, no map awareness, etc. Quit ranked for a while, came back 8 months later after tons of practice. I now understood last hitting, map awareness, the meta, and overall knew all the champions better. I fell to 900 elo.(bronze IV-Bronze III equivalent) Then climbed slwoly to plat over 2 seasons. Point being, it's fairly easy to get carried or held back by your team. Solo Q is like 80% luck. |

![]() Looking at my KDAand CS/minute ratios, I can confidently say I was carried in one of those games, purely based off statistics and not influence I had on the game such as map pressure or making plays like picks or calls. If you actually think that your team is what affects the outcome of the game 80% of the time... There is one factor that stays constant in every one of your games, and that's you. I'm not even that high of a level above Gold players, and the vast majority of the time, if I ****stomp my lane as I should be doing, I have the biggest impact on the game because I know how to use my advantages to a better extent than everyone else. Yes, I will admit there is of course luck playing a part of the outcome of your matches since there are 9 other humans that are in the game, but you are ultimately the deciding factor the decides whether or not you climb. I can't see anyone with Gold skill actually being held back in Silver due to teams. Like I said, assuming everyone at the Silver level plays at the Silver level, and the Gold player stuck in the Silver level plays like a Gold, then the Gold will win more often than not and climb as a result. It's simple logic. Yes, you're going to have a lot of wins from getting carried and a lot of losses from ****ty teammate feeders, but guess what; the other team gets those guys too and over a large enough sample size, you're going to be the ****ty feeder that's holding everybody back if you can't compete at the level of your bracket, and you'll fall as a result. I can't see how you can actually believe luck in teammates (especially considering you are one of the players, and the only one that is in all of your games) is a majority of the reason you win or lose solo queue games. Might as well lock in Soraka every single game and pray for a good ADC if you have that mentality lol. Yes, in a small amount of games, you will have bad streaks of feeders and good streaks of Diamond smurfs that backpack your heavy ass to victory, but like I said, the other team gets those guys just as much as you do (if not statistically more given you are not the ****ty feeder) so over a large enough amount of time it will even out and the ultimate factor in deciding if you win or lose, and if you climb or fall, is you and only you. Ever wonder the reason that League uses an individual player Elo-based ranking system for a teamwork-reliant game? Because it works. There's also a reason people are where they are. I haven't seen a player stuck at a level they shouldn't be for more than 30 games. Also very relevant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_averages http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_large_numbers

I can play support. I'm Bronze 3 but that's because I always have a troll, afk, or feeder. ViyGeek |

Lol not saying you didn't deserve it. Just saying you didn't have bad luck like a lot of other people have. As for the law of large numbers, the issue is not everyone has the time to play 500+ games a season |

Everyone deserves the Elo they're at, whether high or low. Climbing is really easy if you're even slightly above your competition. I don't understand when people claim Elo hell and they have 300+ games played in the same division. I can see a Gold player being held at mid-high Silver for 75 games at the very most assuming his MMR is where it should be.
