Guild admin on iclassic
There should be a guild admin on iclassic. His main goal is to make guilds relevant again by adding features to the server that keep guilds entertained and active. Besides GST which is every three months and castling which is outdated and in my mind very flawed, there's nothing else to do. The fact that there is a "war room" which is just an indoor pk room is hilarious. This guild admin would work on projects like 2v2 sparring CTF Warring system Improve castling Update guild houses..because right now all they are, are personal houses that really have no use for guilds. ( maybe they should be attackable) Introducing an enemy list because you have allies but no enemies? Guild hats Anyone else think it's time someone is hired to specifically work on this stuff? |

Off-topic: i know the thread albus closed was to emphasize your idea if improving guilds in classic but "insulting" classic staff is only going to make them ignore your ideas even more. |

Not really. We have discussed guild content quite a bit... but revamping the entire way guilds work is a huge undertaking. So there would be QUITE a lot of thorough planning. It's not something staff just want to rush into and in turn just **** it all up. Staff realize that Classic is mostly replayable through its social aspects, like guilds, PKing, houses and such. We have no intention to neglect any of those aspects, as in the end that's what really keeps players coming back. If it makes you feel better, I have talked to Rufus about the concept of a "council" being created where a handful of very experienced guild leaders would be gathered and guild changes and the like would be discussed/planned out with their input. Rufus had the same idea as well, it would be a very good way to go about making changes to those aspects of the game while keeping in touch with what's best for the playerbase. |

Kate from SoN? AdrianEnigma and AsterFeare? How about Santa Claus from Cruxis? Seriously what is wrong with listening to the feedback that the actual players (not highly adored leaders) have provided on these forums? Did you not read the "declare war/enemy" ideas? Literally like every player who posted was very interested in something like that... why would staff listen only to the tower leaders that would be chosen out of complete bias instead a large amount of players who can all agree on something on a public forum like we have here? |

*points at any other server who thinks it is innovative and in any way a good idea to "promote" a random admin to an arbitrary position supposedly designed to help the players when really it's just there to soften egos* From the few times I had a VG tag I just remember Aster angrily cussing at the guild and demanding that they do a better job taking towers. Don't know that she would exactly be suitable for the job! |

Ideal candidates would be those who have extensive knowledge of all of Classic's features. They would also have to be able to provide both interesting ideas and constructive criticism. And finally they would have to be pleasant to be around. Unfortunately there are very few people who meet all three of these requirements.
Remember when a few towers were "King of the Hill?" A lot of people didn't mind the change. BUT a lot of people don't tower - so would a panel of people who tower be a bad idea for discussing matters regarding towering? Of course a theoretical council wouldn't have any authority over any development. They would just give their input. How would members be chosen? The same way admins are. You would apply, maybe have an interview or two and either be accepted or turned down.

Although towering is still fairly active, it's one of the few things available year round. I still find towering entertaining because there's a social aspect that keeps me engaged. There's no doubt that guilds need a face lift. The problem, however, is lack of developers any a lot to do.

As much as I hate to say it, guys like vlad, comet, thallen, lia, and certain tower leaders (sh1t even twilit) would be good candidates(for various reasons) gst power teams, hat chasers, no-life tower guilds, 0 guild loyalty seem to be some of the reasons the guild system is looked down upon. |
