I wish US would come back.. Guys like Brett and Ares did a goodjob carrying them all those years. I wasn't around for a lot of US's wins but they definitley did outmatch every team they went up against in the one or two I watched and participated in. It would be a lot more interesting now for sure. Round up the troops Crono..1 more time! US is pretty lucky a bunch of Elite sparrers on UN got bored and joined (in my opinion what was becoming a dying guild) Ares, Squirt, Brett, Deo, Praydoh (Charlie Cypher), Smoke, myself at one point. They became the flavor of the month but did a good job holding onto most of these guys. |

I'm sure it's partially true that US won a ton of GSTs because they had the best PCs the fastest and because GSTs were hosted monthly When stronger teams like Mother came around it became harder, but also a lot of US members lost interest in sparring so that was probably the bigger problem Another issue is the fact that US is not like every other guild that just recruits people on the spot for a chance at competing in the GST even so, no PC team would ever be able to beat a full US team if everyone got together and cared to win Prado, Ares, Deo, Highlander?, David, Rufus, Crono, Shannon, Trip, Squirt, myself Brett is IMO the best sparrer of all-time and he never even played iClassic, so throw him in there as a possibility with those people, our 2 subs would probably be better than the best 2 on other teams, WTF kind of GST team has to consider subbing David or something you'd have better luck beating Tortoise's full-on godmode in a Babylon weekly tournament hosted by Sephiroth
US was around long before newbies like Charlie even knew how to set his coat color so I can't see how it was ever just a flavor it was always an extremely relevant and consistent guild, Rufus just took it in a different direction with a different group of players that group of players stays together because we've known each other forever through sparring and have mutual respect for one another, we play other games, we Skype, etc. the guild seemed to have of every really good sparrer from the 2004-2007ish sparring era except Halo and Neo I hate when people dillute or dumb down "PC sparring" or "PC Graal" to this small window of time when UN was the only server because, TBH, that's when sparring was at its worst US was strong even when Morgoth was the leader and it was probably successful on UN (I'm just guessing because I had quit by that time) because it was passed on to someone that isn't an asshole, doesn't have an overwhelming ego, and is generally good at leading and organizing things and Brett was never in a single GST, so he didn't carry a damn thing no one ever carried US, everyone just sparred and cooperated and won

But ya, don't think most of us have any interest in GST/sparring. |

yeah, older US was strictly Classic and Classic was one of those servers that didn't really have a hardcore sparring community people hung out at level14.graal rather than a spar arena (UN) or an events house (Babylon), etc. Classic was more centered around it's close-knit community, PKing, and events, so I guess there was just never a need for US to have some beastly sparring presence, although they did have people like Trip, Deo, Clel (I think?), but my memory is way too clouded about Graal times to remember if they were in US even pre-Rufus US vs. VV at Babord fort, I'll take that over sitting in TC spar any day it just makes sense that when Classic was dying and everyone moved to UN that sparrers would be who US should recruit not like anyone wants to recruit those plebs like Unique, Jigga, and whoever else plays that toilet server anyway |

Baited and caught Thallen. Let's compare life stories and see who's doing better.. I'll start. I have a girlfriend. If you can say the same we can also go into college degree, homeownership, and job if you'd like. Since you're a big talker, let's get some personal **** going and I want you to post a pic of your fatass with any friends/girlfriend to show how socially advanced you are. You participated..what place did you come in? |

Reeling it back in to the thread topic (or something at least more similar than the entire last page)....Would anyone agree with a new system to better inform the players of the GST date? Through all the rumors and "admins say this, no this guy said that" kind of talk, the truth becomes very muddled. I'd propose some npc message closeby to "Congratulations to _____________ for winning the _______ GST" that informs us of at least a general time period. It becomes hard to find out who is/is not able to be online for it if the date isn't known. At first, the 24th was thought to be the date, then the 31st, now I'm seeing Abel's status where he supposedly talked to an admin who said it's 2-3 weeks from now. It's getting ridiculous tbh.

Would make it easier on everyone involved definitely. I don't know why GST wasn't on the 24th and then why it wouldn't be on the 31st. If they're delaying a time to finish up hats for the event, I think it would be a good idea to treat GST winners like tower guilds that reach 1k hours and allow a guild to upload a hat, 2nd place gets a pre-made hat by staff.. that way they're not working on 6.

Some team will win, and then a bunch of idiots will post on the forums about how it was rigged in favor of some team.

In the early tournaments, hats that were already made were used, take Memento Mori hat for example. You can also find it on Zeross statue for most spar tokens on UN. They could just do this as well. I know Eko always wanted the hat 69069.gif (and not because of the numbers, he loved wings and these were a set of animated wings, like the US GST hat).
