Yes, I know that the staff currently moderate the in-game forum system, but I don't think this is a very great idea.
As staff members, they're responsible for doing their jobs, which is why they were hired. But, since they are working, I don't see a lot of Staff actively moderating the forums. This is needed badly, I see spam threads, rude posts, and off-topic chatter all the time, that stays there without moderation.
The idea of Player moderaters was denied. But, I suggest you rethink your decisions on the topic. To be honest, I see no issue to having players moderating the forums. We have nothing we
have to do, and seem to have a lot of freetime. Obviously, certain staff members would still have access to moderation tools, and making closed threads in News Section etc. But, the players picked to moderate the forums would actively be doing so.
If considered, this would benefit the in-game forums, it so desperately needs. This would
NOT be a staff position, just a simple job you'd do every so often. There isn't a need of a large moderating team, just a few players (2-3). And along with it would be a simpler application for the Staff to review and pick.
