this is why i hate shotguns in 2d games, they can never be balanced good. If damage is stacked its OP, if damage isn't stacked then its OP at long range and dosent follow shotgun logic.

Pl9 still doesn't seem to do it's job well. Use it in spar, you may be called spammer. Use it in bases, and it's a terrible gun. First off, regular shotgun clearly will do more damage at point blank range. Thanks to it's stack damage. M16 is the same price as pl9 and can handle many situations. Pl9 is limited, making it somewhat situational. Pl9 suffers at close range, m16 is great at close range and mid range. What about long range? Pl9 was designed for long range attacks, the problem is that it's bullets aren't strong enough for this situation. Paired with it's huge freeze rate, harms it's potential for finishing off enemies. I've tested the pl9 in basing and the damage looks like a joke. A 15k gun does the same damage as a starter pistol. If pl9 was designed for area coverage, then make it more effective. Pl9 doesn't seem to find it's proper use. Pl9 is a terrible primary weapon and not effective enough as a secondary. It's not effective enough as a finisher weapon, long range attacks are situational. The bullets have a limited range, as it cannot travel for infinite distance. Successfully damaging an enemy at long range isn't that rewarding. Along with that, your huge freeze rate makes you an easy target for incoming bullets. Test the pl9 outside sparring. Shotguns weren't really meant for sparring and more for pking and basing. Even if you mastered any shotgun, you may get criticized for using it in spar. Take a look at ACR, starter shotgun, starter dual uzis, and m16. Each of these weapons can achieve their use more effectively than pl9. Dual uzis has large spread and coverage, slightly more damage than pl9 and has less spread. Starter shotgun has practically the same spread, same freeze rate as pl9. Yet does more damage. M16 is the same price as pl9 but is a very versatile gun and useful in almost any situation. Yet can still do a good job a long distances since the rate of fire and freeze rate is excellent. Low freeze rate, high fire rate, nice damage, overall, well balanced stats for a spam type gun. ACR is cheaper than pl9, much less freeze rate, high fire rate, and more damage. If pl9 was priced more properly, this would have been ok. Unfortunately, a 15k gun needs to meet up to standards with guns around that price range. |

Yes, but the stacked damage is equaling a maximum damage, which is too high for certain weapons, such as the starter shotgun. Not stacking damage would mean one set damage, no matter the number of bullets you get hit with. Answer: certain bullets should do less than other bullets when stacked, giving a lower stacked dmg hit. Example: 5 bullets doing 5 dmg each = 25 stacked. 2 bullets doing 4 dmg and 2 doing 5 = 18 dmg stacked with a possible 5 or 4 dmg bullet spread chance per bullet. Makes more sense to me I guess. |

This gun really needs a buff to make it good with the guns around its price range. Its not worth it in basing and it just doesnt do the job in sparring.

Ya know whoever is making Prices extremly high for terrible guns needs to die in a hole. I tinkered with a pl shotgun and man does it SUCK. Even with the buff the damage does not cut it. 6 damage per bullet would be better than the 4 dmg per shot thing.
