So.. the trailer was released. I just can't shake that they are making this book (which is an epic complex sci fi satire on society) into a simple movie where a little kid is getting bullied but must save the world, when its not about that at all if you actually read it. I don't want to spoil anything but the original book is fantastically deep. This feels like they stripped everything that made the book great down and are shooting for mainstream audiences. What do you guys think? Put spoiler tags around the stuff that is important if you read the book!

That might be what is making it feel like a generic pop corn flick. I will never forgive hollywood if they make my favorite book into that.  

Did not know about this, makes me sad, because I know it's going to be crap but I'm still going to see it and then I'm going to feel bad afterwards because it was crap and the book was better. I hope they at least kill off Bean, something about that kid annoys me  

I actually read this book this year for my english clash. It was one of the best books ive read, hope the movie gave me as many goosebumps as the book did. And damn... She fine ;)
