Heroes and Generals is a free to play FPS currently in BETA. It is set in WWII and has all the weapons and vehicles. You are able to choose from 2 sides whether to be part of the American Army or the German. You cannot change sides unless you make a new account. The thing that sets this game apart is the fact that the war is fought accross Europe and Britian, and each battle you participate in is one of the cities/towns of Europe and alters the course of the war.

Here is the map of europe, each red dot and blue dot are different places you fight in, red means the germans occupy it and blue means the americans own it. Each battle is more or less a rush battle like bf3 where you attack or defend the town your nation owns.

You can buy weapons and customize them like an other fps and drive vehicles such as tanks and planes. It goes much more indepth to the extent of controlling attack teams which are like battlefield 3 squads, except they hold over 16 people and are always with you in each battle.

The game is quite good, however; it's engine runs terribly on PC's that should be able to run it without a problem. Although, that is to be expected of a game in development.
