Sticky This: Tips to stay as safe as possible during trading.
Hello all! Many (if not all) of you know about the dangers of trading. I'm going to post a few tricks on how to outsmart scammers and con artists from swindling you out of your item. 1) NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER trade at someone's house. There is almost a garuntee that they will kick you as soon as you drop your item. Try to stay away from the "you drop first" kids as well. 2) ONLY TRADE WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW AND TRUST! Mutual friends can still be scammers, just because your good friend says they are legit doesn't mean they won't ever scam. Be careful 3) Avoid people with less then 100 hours. I find more often then not that scammers are those people with little hours, names like "Leader killer (legit trades) or whatever, as they are more likely than not scammers. 4) TRY TO ALWAYS DO PUBLIC TRADES! Be careful, make sure you are doing it away from doors so no one can pick up your dropped item. TRICKS SCAMMERS WILL TRY TO PULL IN A PUBLIC TRADE: > You drop your item, and the scammer asks " ok now i drop mine right?" this is a diversion. in getting you to talk, they have a chance to snatch your item. > they will try to throw water balloons at you, almost like a flashbang, immobilizing you. make sure you are out of range, or if you are not, be very careful. > In a scammer's house, they will have a statue of an admin that appears to be saying "This guy is legit, trade with him!" This means it's safe, right? Wrong. It can be flawed in two ways. There can be an admin statue with nothing on it, and another behind it saying "yeah this guy is legit", or the admin hasn't seen every single trade this person has done, so even if it is a statue of an admin, be weary. Overall, scammers come up with many tricky ways to take your items. Be careful while trading, and remember staff CAN NOT help you get your items back. Hope this helps! |

Although, I don't if this is bad or not. But what if you're actually looking for a legit trade and someone actually convinced you that they "are legit". But in the middle of the process of their scam you noticed it and backfired it on them. (Like unplugging and plugging your router cord) It'll make you warp when you do that so basically, instead of them scamming you, you reversed the scam and scammed them. Bad or no?

I don't trade really. If I do it's with people I've known for ages, and trust. Just don't drop to a stranger.

Or, jailbreak your iDevice and trade with 'legit well known' people. Get display recorder and screw their rep if they scam.

On public trades, watch out for hackers or scammers who are friends with hackers. They'll get the location of the public trade and teleport in front of you and steal your item. Happened to me twice and I didn't know how he figured out where to find me. Oh and by the way, the two guys who did this to me go by the names of "Brandon" and "Cay". I got a warning from another person that they threatened to hack his account of he didn't trade. As far as I know, both are jailed. But always keep your eyes peeled!

For the people saying "not trade" that's no solution, getting better stuff in the game makes it fun.. What if there's rares you really want,I wouldn't spend 60k for some colored umbrella, simply save up rares and trade for it. I'm not a trader but if there's something I really want,I trade for it..
