My Computer fans are too loud
So I finally finished building my computer, and it works great. However, I'm rather annoyed that the fans run at full power all the time regardless of cpu load, and it is extremely loud. Even with <10% cpu usage, they still run at their fastest speed. Is there a way I can make it so the fans run at a speed according to cpu usage/temperature? The really loud spinning is annoying ![]() I know fans are needed to keep the cpu/gpu within the proper operating temperatures, but these fans are ridiculously loud even when I'm not doing anything. My old laptop would run the speed of the fans according to the cpu load, and it worked well. It's gonna be annoying trying to sleep when I download my games overnight :/ |

Can check bios, but not sure if that's where you'd look. Alternatively check if your cpu fan is 100% ok. A chip or something can throw it off balance and make it much louder than it should be. You can also look into buying a new fan for it that is known to be quiet; I don't think they're too expensive. Also to be safe you can download a popular temp checker and make sure your cpu isn't getting hot. And you should probably specify if it's your cpu or gpu gan. |
