Well, I haven't bought the Etymotics from your previous recommendation yet, since I don't have the money for them. However, the Skullcandys I so stupidly bought broke on me, so I'm going to need another recommendation.
Budget: $20

They're good. Better than my old Skullcandy FMJ. So good.  

I just got bored and looked at reviews for my cheap skullcandy earbuds on their website and wow they have so many fake reviews. They should be ashamed.  

I bought my earphones on the day that you recommended them and I've had them for a few weeks now. I'm going to be honest, I didn't like them at first because the sound wasn't what I was used to at all. The bass of my older Sennheiser seemed stronger, but after a few weeks of using them I realize that it is just as strong. I think the clarity that the new set had threw me off, but I really like it now, hearing details in tracks that I hadn't heard with my previous set.

Thanks for the recommendation, A++++++++ will buy from again.

Sound quality is a must! Deep bass, but not distorted. Balanced treble, comfortable, dont have to look TOTALLY AMAZBALLS. Don't break easily.

Damn, I thought I gave you the goods. Anyway, this set may be out of your budget by just a little but you can probably find these for used inside your budget. I was looking at this review the other day and I think it would suit hip-hop/rap well with a bass-centric signature.

Sound (8/10): The most striking aspect of the Q40s’ sound is the bass - specifically the depth, power, and texture of the low end, which are all superb. The Q40s can really go deep when the track calls for it and the sub-bass is felt as much as it is heard. For my tastes the boosted mid- and upper bass on the Q40s is excessive but the rest of the sound signature is rather neutral and monitor-like. They remind me of a far more refined JVC HA-M750 on both counts. The midrange is lush and full but seems to have a slight dip at the lower end. The treble is never harsh or sibilant and is rolled off slightly off at the very top. The soundstage is slightly below average in width and lacks depth, resulting in a rather intimate sound. Instrumental separation is good and the Q40s do a good job of relating detail. They are not very forgiving of poor source material and the 64-ohm impedance means that while the Q40s are perfectly capable performers when driven by a portable source, they do benefit from some additional juice, which opens them up and gives them some more speed and control in the lower and middle registers.

Hmm, the ones I just recommended to Imprint should fare well. If you ever want to go on-ear you can find a set of Grados in the price range (I'm thinking the SR225) or a set of used Sennheiser HD25s.
