Arbor day, plus: various tribes of Native Americans viewed trees as wise ancestors and would pay tribute to the oldest largest ones, such as the colony of huge trees, Pando, the oldest organism on earth, and also the heaviest organism on earth. Maori in New Zealand worshiped one of the many extremely old trees in the world, i think its name translates to "father of the forest". various small religions and people considered trees as special, in fact, the whole christmas using a evergreen thing isnt really original nor a vital part of the story behind the religion,and was actually taken from other religions/cultures. |

Not sure if the tree really was worshipped as such, but it's a pretty big tree. |
