I don't believe things are what they are, just because much of the population considers them as it. It is a fruit. |

Vegetables can be a lot of different things including fruit (tomatoes), flowers (broccoli) and roots (carrots). The classification of vegetable is culinary, meaning that it only really matters when you talk about cooking.
