The first movie is premiering in Wellington today. I'm looking forward to it a lot :3 The actual release is in December, I think? Something like that. Anyone else looking to see it when it's released?

Yeah. I think the first is getting through Mirkwood and whatnot, the second is called Desolation of Smaug, and so is the part where Smaug is vanquished and all that fun stuff, and the last will probably be about the battle at the end, called There and Back Again I'm pretty sure.  

I watched a video on YouTube last night about the production of it and it looked really cool. I've also been doing research on New Zealand for a project and most of the news sites have a whole section dedicated to the Hobbit. It's kinda funny: It goes Political, Economical, Social, Crime, Health, Education, The Hobbit.

New Zealand doesn't have that much that's big and world known. Like, we have the guy that invented bunjy jumping, and zorbing, but no one really recognizes us for it. The jet boat, we had the first person to split the atom, even the guy that invented jogging. When we have things like Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, King Kong, the Rugby World Cup, things that are kind of shoved in the worlds face saying "MADE IN NEW ZEALAND" people know that we're an awesome country, no matter how small we are. The whole country gets excited for this kind of thing. xD

Plus, they're good for the economy *thumbs up*

Just going to point it out, Weta Digital, which is a New Zealand company, made the graphics for LotR, the Avengers, King Kong, Prometheus, Tintin, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, etc

ive been to the shire in New Zealand, seen the actual sets, been inside the hobbit holes, got leaves from the fake oak above the baggins hobbit hole, as well as a pine cone from the party tree, which is dying, is probably dead by now, and when it falls down its wood will be made into merchandise.

also weta did the district 9, and their own steampunk scifi gun wielding comic series called professor zorbigullaghjsjjghafa cant remember his name.

Yeah, they have a lot of cool stuff there. It seems more homely and just a fun group of people. Also it's beautiful there.

Read the book almost 2 times, can't wait for the movie.

Don't forget Avatar which is probably their most popular work creating Pandora.
I first heard of them from when they did some promotional stuff for Halo 3, and they also made a fully functioning warthog.  

Spoilers: Bilbo finds the One Ring.  

I saw a magic sword fight and it got me pumped for this movie. Sorry, but i dont follow Lord of the rings or related stuff ( i think the hobbit isnt LOTR, but idk cause im stupid)
