Enderman griefing off y/n?
Personally I don't enjoy how Enderman act in 1.8. A large portion of the "griefing" that seems to be reported is actually done by an Enderman. I have the ability to disable their griefing globally now, and I personally think this is the best route until the next generation of Enderman are released. I want to know your thoughts on this before anything is done however, so vote in the poll and post your comments

So nerfing a mob is okay, but adding /back apparently ruins the game despite the fact nobody that doesn't want to use it is effected? Unless you somehow are negatively effected by players like me having fun.

Sorry. I'm just a little angry about it not being added. Anyway, when you say stop endermen griefing does that mean just stoping the block moving and placement, or stopping the spawning of endermen alltogether? |

I would have to say yes, because we already have Creeper griefing off.

Just out of curiosity, what was the reasoning behind you guys saying no? (Not trying to be rude at all!)

I think creeper as well as endermen effects should be on. Having them off is lame, it's like cheating. We need a little challenge.

http://i52.tinypic.com/6sfm9c.png (Unsupported image host) Endermen don't really even work properly. Their only purpose for existing is not only to grief buildings, but to also make the world insanely ugly. The world is peppered by dirt blocks, holes in the ground and trees, and even caves/strongholds have had endermen spawn inside and ruin the walls and floor. All endermen do right now is make the world look like it was generated with a spraypaint tool. Don't forget even Notch is changing them, 1.9 is just taking a long time. |

This IS a vanilla server right? Then that means if you wanna keep it vanilla, keep all the mobs and their abilities. But I don't really care. Change it to how you see fit.

Also, Endermen are just annoying right now. As Jonus noted, even if you kill them they don't drop the block they stole. There is no way of combating them, meaning in their current state they're just another matter of annoyance that add nothing to the game(ps they're kind of broken). In 1.9 they're "fixed" so there probably won't be much need to mod them out. Also, they were supposed to be a fairly rare mob, yet I see more than 3 groups every night around our village. One fly by around the server with creative mode and you'd see they're not so rare by all the damage they do to the terrain. Hell, you'd probably see it just by going in a cave system or stronghold, seeing all the odd and end blocks scattered about. The idea here is to make the game a bit more enjoyable by alleviating the "broken" aspects. I don't agree with say, warping(at least in this manner), but I don't feel it's ruining my enjoyment of the game either. |
