the hell, i logged in and it updated without my permission and now the servers outdated and mods have to be fixed again. wow.

Try getting the MagicLauncher. You can switch to different versions easily without having to change your .jar. You can also add mods without having to go into your jar.

MultiMC is superior, as you have icons to easily switch between separate Minecrafts AND you can easily install Forge, .jar mods, mods and coremods folder mods and texture packs, in the one menu. Plus, it comes with MCNostalgia!

i added two more squares, so its 6x4. and a cocoa farm + wart farm.

According to Mojang, they were hacked. They're fixing it and the server should be up shortly.

1. The authentication servers are messed up big time--Mojang needs to fix those.
2. Bukkit hasn't updated yet.

Bukkit is becoming pretty unreliable since it is taking them several weeks just to update. Now that Mojang is creating non-major updates that require you to upgrade in order to go on servers, Bukkit is starting to seem obsolete. Before, you didn't have to upgrade a 1.1.2 Bukkit server in order to log in with a, say, 1.1.4 client. It seems Mojang is moving away from that, and quite frankly I'm tired of blocks of weeks or more of having a useless server.

I don't suppose there are any alternatives to Bukkit?
