I started watching this Monday on Netflix. Finished the first two seasons today. I'm not skipping to the last page to read what happens in the last two episodes I haven't seen yet. Was a little confused by the samurai woman with zombie pets.

If you like the walking dead and have a Netflix account you should also try breaking bad; it's another amazing show on AMC too.

Lori died . I really wasn't expecting her to this early. And (and I don't mean this in any racial way, but I don't remember his name) the last black guy died. Because of the character he is, I was kind of expecting him to die, but still kind of not. I liked him. He seemed friendly. They should probably get out of the prison though. D:

 

The ruined it for me by killing Tdog...i hate them all now.  

Well, I saw the first six episodes of The Walking Dead. It was pretty interesting, from the highway, to the church, to the house where the boy got shot. Then I just started slipping away and watching less. I saw the first 10 minutes of the season 2 premier, I got bored and went on /r/trees and /r/WTF  

A lot of season two can be quite boring, but it still gets better in a few episodes, and season 3 so far is great.  

I dont like the whole governer subplot kinda annoying

I like it. It adds more substance to the world. And what I've read about what happened with the governor and such in the comics sounds interesting (I haven't actually read the comics themselves, but I decided to read the plots for each one).

What's annoying?

The addition to the governor(and the entire town) adds an entire new dimension to the world that has been so far unexplored. So far it's just been a few survivors here and there and conflict between them. Now we see a new side of the world they live in: a side where people are trying to rebuild, where society is trying to establish itself again. This adds whole new dynamics and possibilities to the story, and to top it off that's just the surface of the town. We're slowly being shown the dark underbelly of the society and it adds lots of new possible conflicts. We see the governor is not only crooked, but also possibly crazy(if the journal entries are anything to go by). But what's most interesting about him isn't that, but the fact that he's able to put on a straight face and deceive an entire town.

What they're doing with the story is painting more of the world. Now we have Rick and co. at the prison, but we have this entire town somewhere else... and we've already seen what the Governor does when he encounters other groups with supplies(the army outpost). And Andrea gave Merle clues as to how to find the group(he wants to find his brother, Daryll), what happens if the Governor finds the prison with all that food and weaponry? What happens to the group then?

I don't see what's so annoying with the addition of the Governor, it adds so much possibility.

Many people hate the governor but honestly, hes extremely successful. Like he said when we first saw him in the series, nobody has died within his walls in a year, meanwhile rick's group has had death after death. However, adding onto this the experience of Woodbury/combat completely sucks ass, out of their 75 people I'm pretty sure only about 10 are trained in any type of warfare. Adding onto this, michonne killed two of them in the woods, (marguiololol, guy with headband and manny pacquiao). Its quite funny to see the foreshadowing that the directors put in, the 'olympic archer' supposed to train Andrea ends up to be a worse shot than Carol with a rifle.

I'm honestly really confused about the most recent episode though, (S03E7) Milton does the experiment on the old man with prostate cancer and learns that walkers don't have a conscience, however in season 1 Morgan's wife acted as if she still had memories.

Then, the random hermit in the forest with the decaying dog.

The problem is for some reason the show doesn't want to make him seem like that bad of a guy. Even I can see reason with almost everything he has done in the show, but it's a complete contrast to who the governor is in the comic(spoilers if you don't want to know what happens in the comic):

It's been a long time since I read the comic but I'll try to portray the governor accurately.

> Michone shows up at the prison BEFORE going to Woodbury. She never meets Andrea either, Andrea never split up with the group and was at the prison with the rest. Michone quickly because a useful member of the group.

> A couple people from the group go to check out the helicopter crash. This includes people like Glen, Rick, Michone... The army from Woodbury arrive at the crash first(like in the TV show). HOWEVER when they shoot the soldiers it's NOT because they were already walkers like in the show. They take the survivors back to Woodbury to feed the Governors zombie daughter fresh meat.

> Group follows the soldiers back to woodbury and I think at this point they are caught and taken in. Governor wants to know where they came from, immediately cuts off Rick's hand. This was not provoked, he did it purely to show the group that he isn't ****ing around.

> Proceeds to rape Michone(Maggie isn't there, in contrast to the show). He DOES NOT threaten like he did to Maggie, he tortures and rapes her repeatedly.

> The zombie fighting is NOT staged in the comic, and losers are eaten by the walkers.

As you can see the comic immediately made and emphasized just how evil the governor really is. But in the show they just kind of make him seem like he's a decent guy who has to do bad stuff to sustain his community... not unlike Rick. I don't think they did a good job.

Hell, even though Glen was tortured, the NEXT scene where they group takes Michone in Rick immediately starts hitting her bullet wound. He was pretty much prepared to torture her to get information as well. It just doesn't make the governor seem like a truly bad guy when Rick has done/willing to do the same thing.

 

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the fact that it showed that she still had memories.
And yes, the Governor has been pretty successful during the Apocalypse, however, I personally don't like his character because of how he acts. He killed those one guys who were in the army just to get their guns and vehicles. Why not just try to get them to come to their town and have then help protect.. lol  

This show is my life <3 Season three has been absolutely amazing!
