The Nuzlocke Challenge
What is the Nuzlocke challenge? http://imageshack.us/a/img13/2383/challengecomic.png (Unsupported image host) Simple, really. Dig up your old copy of pokemon, and boot it up. Play like normal, but... 1)if a pokemon faints you release it. It is DEAD and not coming back 2)you can only catch the first pokemon you see in each route/city/cave etc. If it sucks/you don't like it/you fail to catch it, TOO BAD Those are the two main rules, but also generally followed: 3)cannot catch legendaries, must kill them all 4)no using masterball 5)no pokemon breeding 6)no trading 7)nickname ALL pokemon(increase your attachment/sadness when they die) Also, following: 8)rule #2 may be excused if the first pokemon you run into you currently own a form of, but the first pokemon you run into that you don't own in an area is the one you can catch Is ok in my book, increases pokemon diversity Good luck. Also check out www.nuzlocke.com

Can you use an emulator to play? I don't have any of my old pokemon games anymore.

Sounds familiar. I think I heard it on a different forum. Nonetheless, it sounds interesting.

Sure you can emulate it, just don't cheat. Of course, you can if you really want to, but you won't get that sense of achievement. Also, the comics on the site I posted are hilarious. Don't worry, the art style improves Edited OP for rules 7) and 8) |

I started it on pokemmo, beat brock so far with no fatalities. Rollin' deep with 6 living party members. However, most of the endgame of pokemmo isn't implemented yet, plus no legendary battles. I found my old Ruby cartridge and my battered SP, gonna do it on there and maybe Leaf Green as well... then maybe make a net comic out of it for fun, seems to be a trend

Just go to gamestop, not that pricey. Or eBay/craiglist/amazon. Or if you're a cheapass who hates pokemon, get an emulator

No stores sell gba games where I live, there is the monthly market but the games there are expensive. I'll probably end up playing on an emulator anyway.

If you want a nicer feel for the emulator, jailbreak your iPod and get gpsphone

And what if your starter faints? Can you actually release those? :0
