Telling someone to shut up doesn't really get your point across. You don't seem to understand what I said, I was just saying that since world war 2 and the united state's emergence as a super power, all of Europe's armies have drastically dwindled because of their reliance on the United States. These wars America is fighting are in both of our interests, and since European countries have dwindled their armies, in a sense, we are fighting for your best interests as well. And fox news? Seriously? I'm not covering anything up. I'm putting my facts on the table. Why don't you instead of insulting me?

I'm watching one of Romney's speeches right now on CBS. He's not a bad public speaker, though all he's doing is appealing to the masses. So far he hasn't said a word on his future plans; he's just been sweet talking the crowd.

[QUOTE=Pimpsy G.;190044]Telling someone to shut up doesn't really get your point across. Seriously? I'm not covering anything up. I'm putting my facts on the table. Why don't you instead of insulting me? Ok now your talking more sense. Because what you said before made it seem like you were impling britian had practiclly no army at all(go reread what u said) And yes The united states has emerged as the biggest superpower after the collapse of the sovie union. But Britian had only reduced their army because they didnt see the need to have more than around 120,000 troops. Simply because there wasnt any pending threat of a war on a scale like the world wars. Also they moved more funding towards their S.A.S program, who were in fact the pioneers of the counter terrisom tactics used by all special forces units around the world. And maybe u remember the conflict in Lybia, the majority of the airstrikes were launched by Canadian, British and French fighter jets. My reply about the fox news and them covering up didnt mean that u were covering up anything. That example was because fox described the canadian army as pathetic and they could mind as well just invade us. Not that i was saying thats what YOU meant, but how it was similar in a sense that u called the bristish army soo small that it practically does nothing. We forget that this is the internet and its impossible to read emotion without being face to face which leds to alot of misperception. But when u wrote that, it certainly seemed to my point of view that you were disrespecting the british army completely. How is going to do this exactly? |

First of all, I want to start out by saying that asking this question to a group of people where the majority are too young to vote is kind of silly.
Government spending isn't as bad as you think it is. Government spending provides us with things like police, firefighters, schools, roads; the list goes on and on with services that I'm sure you have used in the past or will use in the future. |

24% goes to defense contracts. All of these services now were regulated much much long ago. The Internet shaped how we acted. ![]() http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/...nding_2012USrn We spend 24% on fighting small countries with little or no aid and terrorists huddled caves. * Total Spending $3.8 trillion * * Pensions $0.8 trillion * * Health Care $0.8 trillion * * Education $0.2 trillion * * Defense $0.9 trillion * * Welfare $0.5 trillion * |

This is going to sound harsh, but Romney's a crazy man with no grounding in life as a regular person, all of his major sponsors are banks because they know he won't mess with taxes, he'll make the rich richer and the poor poorer. If he gets into government, the U.S is going to pay, big time. |

I'm one of those mature members... I'm on Barack Obama's side because I feel like Romney is a rude, rich guy who only cares about rich people. According to some of his speeches that I actually listened to, it seems like he wants to make life for the richer easier, and life for the poor harder.

To be honest, I don't think either of them are the right man for the job. Obama had his chance to get us out of the recession, create more jobs, but instead he tried to install Obamacare, which nobody even asked for voting him into office. Last election, I thought Obama was the right man for the job. This time around, I don't feel like he is.

Pimpsy, spending money on the war effects the economy of the united states directly so what he said is actually right on point
