Minecraft- BunkerCraft v1.0
Hello all, I've been wanting to do this for awhile, and i'm starting to right now. The idea is that The Overworld is highly contaminated with radiation, and players have to live underground, either in bunkers or vaults, like in fallout. In the beginning, players have 30 Minutes to gather resources aboveground, especially essential ones like seeds, wool, saplings, and chicken eggs. After that, players must head underground and either build their own bunker or join someone else's. After a player has spent their 30 minutes, they must remain underground, but may go back outside ONLY if it is raining. The second it stops raining, players have to return underground. I've asked some people what they thought of this idea, and they seem to like the idea. Whats your opinion guys?

A mod would be able to accomplish this. 1) Start the world at night. 2) Make direct sunlight(the value used to spawn animals) harm the player.

Ok! I'll start it up either tonight or tomorrow. I want to run it 1000000% Vanilla for now, though.

The problem is that I imagine it really wouldn't be all that different. Most people who play tend to cluster underground during night, and come up during the day. This would be pretty much the same playstyle except reversed. The only difference is that they'd have to deal with mobs at night, but really that's just a rough start. It's insanely easy to be self-sustaining underground(you get enough saplings from one tree to create more than it cost to cut it down. So wood is easily gained. Food can be obtained via an underground wheat farm. A bit harder than a tree farm since they need sunlight, but not really by a huge margin). I think you might need to think a bit more critically about what else you can add to the gameplay that would add to the experience and make it different. However, you are aware that when radiation is involved rain is actually very dangerous? Fallout and such Water becomes contaminated and evaporation picks up the contaminated water and when it rains it's pretty much raining radiation at much more dangerous levels than just ambient. A more fitting analogy would be vampires.

Would each player get a maximum of 30 minutes when they first join the server? It wouldn't quite be fair if someone got on after the 30 minutes are up and can't go to the "overworld" to get supplies.

Yeah, Everyone gets 30 minutes, nit just 30 minutes starting when i start it up. For example, I get on, and get 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, i head down and start making my bunker. 15 minutes later, Marker gets on. Marker gets 30 mins, as do all new members.

Would you be able to build your house up to the surface of the world but have it enclosed from the outside with the radiation? Haha.
