Half of the GP's don't care about their job and making the server better and safer, since all the reports they get is "he called me a naymmm!" so i don't see why there hiring like a dozen GP's when they might be doing stuff Matt does'n't know. This is all my opinion and what admins i want is more scripters and LAT's.

If you send in an application, do an interview, and get hired how is that volunteering? You are now employed under the company. I've never heard of a company paying staff in virtual unreal currency.

I'd assume since an application is usually legally binding,
and companies probably don't want you doing things while
you are helping out for free.
(stealing, messing with things, other legalities)

If you'd like, feel free to think of it as a crappy internship
where you go to work for a company without being paid
since they have the option to pay you or not.

As for companies paying... well I've seen more companies
hire people as volunteer like Pokemon TD, and a few other
RPG type games, but since I can't remember their names,
I suppose they can't be used. At least on Pokemon TD what
I was told was it was for free and you could apply, but I'm
sure they might get a little something on the side, free
pokemon or customization things...

I don't know, I guess I see nothing wrong with only allowing
a select few of volunteers, and actually knowing a little about
them before I take them in.

Solution: make scripting/LATing tutorials here on the forums for those who already have some basic knowledge of the scripts and have an interest in those positions. I'm sure the graalians.com forum would produce incredibly amounts of user-submitted content, most of it would be pretty awful at first, that's a given, but with time I'm sure some gems would appear and the game would be better off in the long run.

As an artist, especially a freelancer, you need to learn how to do business.
Others are more worried about making a living than to get the best deals..

If you create it, and don't want it given to free,
don't have someone upload it.

I've only created art for Frontier and Shaded Legends,
the only thing I made for iClassic were things my guild could use.

I saw no point in wasting my time or services creating things I
could otherwise be paid for elsewhere.

Why create for a game that would own all
rights to my creative ideas and graphics? :]

As for complaining alongside someone...
I'm not helping anyone complain, only teaching the words
volunteer and job are being used out of context.

You can have a nonpaying volunteer experience as well as
you can have a nonpaying job.

The experience of becoming staff on Graal can be more-so an internship,
where you can learn from others in your expertise.

My thoughts on this were so others would actually stop complaining,
but I was not rude enough to say that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Midori and Julius seem to be great Graal Police as they are yet to be the only staff to take the time to answer a question, or even respond to my feedback. And FP4 and Rufus seem to contribute quite a lot to this game, other than that I don't know much about the staff.

Arichi is a good GP too. She has always answered pms.

The server is not only updated when sales are down. The content is made by volunteers who do it for free, so its added whenever people feel like making content.

Hmph. Since when does a volunteer staff member do stuff by own will? People have lives n dont wanna waste time making gfx for children. And either way, xor has to approve EVERYTHING before its sold/released

would love to be staff, and they
would do the same things.

You should talk about how they can improve,
which they won't listen to of course, but at
least you would then be trying to help them.
