Clothing Brand
I've been on this for a while. Anyone here know how I can start with only a few bucks and no experience in hand?

"1. COME UP WITH A GOTTA-HAVE-IT ITEM. Diane von Furstenberg did it with the now-ubiquitous wrap dress. ... 2. DEVELOP THE DESIGN. Good news: You don't need a degree from Parsons to succeed here. ... 3. MAKE A PROTOTYPE. You'll need one to show potential buyers. ... 4. SOURCE YOUR MATERIALS. ... 5. FIND A FACTORY. ... 6. FUND YOUR BUSINESS. ... 7. SELL, SELL, SELL. " I used google search http://www.marieclaire.com/culture/a...lothing-label/ |

You need more than a few bucks to start a clothing brand but you can start a small shop online first and full blow advertise on it, Or Instagram seen people selling clothes there.

I thought you needed some clothing brand suggestions. --- This is dumb but maybe if you get a prototype of the clothes you can have a cool picture like one of those instagram models. Then people will be like "hey that's pretty hot" |

You most likely won't be able to start your own brand from scratch with only a few bucks. As someone who wants to be a designer I can tell you that's just not how the clothing industry works. However if you really were serious about doing it from scratch, you would need experience. Do you know how to sew at least? Your best bet right now would be to use something like RedBubble or Threadless. Now I honestly hate those websites because they take such a big cut of your profit, but it's better then nothing. Especially considering you don't need to pay to leave your product up, handle shipping, or the printing of your products. It's a steady income if you make something successful after you've finished making it. |

So they don't really "take such a big cut of your profit" at all, no..? |

So, I found a local t-shirt printing shop. Right now, I'm thinking about legal terms.

Some might be creative enough to develop some kind of scheme that makes your business unique and ultimately profitable, such as using a rewards system or whatever, but that probably won't happen until after the start up, so keep that in mind. Make sure you don't overprice or underprice your products. Good luck! I love start ups! One more thing -- keep tidy records and order forms. Be organized. No one wants to go through the hassle of shipping to the wrong house or charging double the price for a product. It will also allow you to be more productive and efficient with your orders. I'm assuming you have the branding issue figured out, as that's what inspired you to do this in the first place. It also looks good for you if you donate a small percentage of your company profits to a cause. |
