Good decisions: making The Hobbit a film. Bad decisions: making The Hobbit three films. |

I don't think we should judge the three films thing until we actually see how they've done them. Peter Jackson was knighted in nz, and he hasn't really done anything but make movies. :3 I trust him to make them interesting. He's adding several characters that aren't in the Hobbit (like Galadriel or however you spell her name), and hopefully they'll make it interesting. (Hopefully)

TLotR trilogy was lengthy, and a lot of content was cut. I don't mind it being a trilogy because I get more to enjoy, and most likely with less story cut to fit the time. I mean if I had a choice between one lengthy Hobbit movie or an even longer one cut into three movies, I'll take the trilogy. More enjoyment, and with Netflix I can enjoy it without having to buy all three until the price drops(like with TLotR).

The first movie coming out is suppose to be 2 hours and 40 minutes long. Now if the next two movies are that long or longer that's over 8 hours of movie based on a book I could probably read twice in that time. I hope they don't drag out and belabor the story... |

they also gave a boeing 777 (I think) an all black livery to support the all blacks, as well as an all new safety video for them. oh, that reminds me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBlRbrB_Gnc edit: Premieres in half an hour minutes. 600 metre red carpet. 100,000 people in Wellington for it, supposedly. Wellington airport: http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...70678096_n.jpg http://news.mymiddleearth.com/files/...lumairport.jpg http://img.scoop.co.nz/stories/image...ta-210-med.jpg As I'm assuming you can tell... this is kind of big for Wellington airport

Also off topic but the producers of The Hobbit are suing the studio that is making Age of The Hobbits because they are afraid it will cause confusion, as they both release on the same day. You know I think society is stupid enough for this to be a big issue (as in, people accidentally seeing Age of The Hobbits thinking it is The Hobbit) if they don't win the sue. |

Peter Jackson said he had so much footage he could have made the movie last 10 hours if stuff hadn't been cut out.

I think the lawsuit is more that the other hobbit movie is sort of piggybacking on the lotr hobbit, because people will search for the hobbit movie, and since this other movie is on the same day, same key words in the title, same hobbit fantasy genre, It's kinda making publicity, getting more attention, probably selling more tickets from people that are at the theater already and decide to watch both... |

They will get money via the unaware/ignorant, without having 1% of the production cost or marketing cost. Even if their movie sucks they may make a profit purely because they're riding off the coat tail of The Hobbit. It's sleazy and lazy and they deserve to be sued. |
