Fishing has always been a good idea. The way this is presented would work. As for a place to fish, it would need to be large to accommodate for the many players that would want to fish, especially for an income. A new town would be great. I talked about fishing with many people, I think it would be ideal to make it a daily quest and not something to do freely for hours at a time like looting or bug hunting or farming. Right now I think it's a tad too tedious trying to earn gralats. Bugs are cheap and not as prevelant as before, which was a major income for me back then, and looting. Looting is okay, but it's still tedious. An extra way to make gralats is always a welcome idea. |

We had a fishing place in iClassic. It was off map. In a cave.

Would it be a good idea to have fishing available everywhere kind of like looting? I still find the idea of a 'Daily Quest' or 'Fishing limit' a solid idea as a balance. The boat idea would be neat to have if that were the case. Requirements for fishing would obviously be to have some sort of bait. There are two ideas: There could be a bait and tackle shop introduced that displays various lures for catching fish, which are expendable and cheap along with the option of buying a can of Worms. This idea would allow fishing to be a cheap but steady source for gralats. The other idea would require the player to actively go out and find their own worms, using the shovel, and find their own lures, by looting. If this were the case, catching fish would not be a daily source for income as it isn't likely you'd find hooks or lures looting all the time. With this idea, it's possible fishing could be vary much rewarding due to the lessened chances of being able to fish. Perhaps both ideas could work. Worms could be obtained for free by digging, but if you're lazy you can just buy a can of worms. It is rather tedious digging for worms. Bait and tackle shops are definitely open for suggestion, but I bet boats and fishing poles and lures would be the main things to buy. |

Principle
What to do for fishing, after completing the quest. On the same principle as the destiny quest. Upon completion, the fisherman makes a shop where he will sell fishing stuff. ![]() Canned food would be added to the inventory. It would complement the money in the shop or find the worms themselves.

I would add to the above that merely catching fish (like looting and catching bugs) would not necessarily put cash in your inventory immediately. Having a 'conservation' aspect to fishing would allow controls in place to have no more than 4 or 5 fish in your inventory of a specific type at a time (like on a real life fishing license). Trading fish in for cash could be similar to the bugs. Big difference I see is the opportunity to have the fish be traded for food items (fried fish, chowder, fillet burger, etc). From time to time there could be a trade in procedure where certain food items were required/requested by NPCs and you could 'deliver' them for a payout. This would encourage more walking around the map, more interaction with obscure regions/npcs in distant locations, and interaction with the world in general.
