In Graal, using * was a trend in 2011, it's outdated. Using i in your name was a trend in 2010, it's outdated. By all means, do it, but it isn't really "cool" anymore.

On Playerworlds, if your nickname and community name are the same,
it adds a * to the start of your name, IIRC.

It was never trendy. The only people who did it are those who as Shmegg said had their commname the same as their nickname, and people who thought Admins did it to be unique.

It's part of the reason why I changed my name to Yog. I hated that asterisk.
