I love MonoType Steel teams and Flying teams. So many ways to alleviate their weaknesses. Same goes for Electric. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-114818580 Also this guy was REALLY mad lmfao. Pause or skip to Turn 17. |

Should I have Calm Mind on my Delphox or free up some room for more variety in offensive options with an assault vest?

... Why can Rotom Wash learn rest? I used Grass Knot on him several times and he finally got down to his yellow health and then he used rest while I was burning from his Willow Wisp. Please tell me how to kill that bastard. I heard Excadrill can take him on, but one of his weaknesses is water and Hydro Pump would probably wipe him out with his low Def. and Special Def. unless I used Focus Sash. It's so frustrating when he causes my entire team to perish. EDIT: Then again... Since he weighs so little grass knot really does probably do **** against him.

Never Grass Knot Rotom-W. GK's damage is based on weight, and Rotom-W is an insanely light Pokemon. If you want to take it down, Mold Breaker Excadrill is your best bet. You can tack on Assault Vest for a lot more special bulk if you invest 252 into SpD, it will be able to tank Hydro Pumps easily. 4 SpA Rotom-W Hydro Pump vs. 192 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Excadrill: 170-204 (41.5 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO Also, Gastrodon and Stockpile Quagsire are textbook counters to Rotom-W. Gastrodon is immune to both of Rotom's attacks, and can set up freely. Mega Heracross and Breloom secure OHKOs easily with Bullet Seed, and setting up DD and EQing with Mega Gyarados will take care of it in a pinch. Gliscor can stall Hydro Pump with its standard SubProtect rotation until it misses, Toxic it, and continue the stall until it dies. Toxicroak can set up a Substitute on the turn that Rotom should Will-o-Wisp, Swords Dance, and KO it with Drain Punch with a healthy Sub for another turn. Mega Charizard Y sets up Sun, lowering the damage of its Hydro Pump, and can KO back with Sun-powered Solarbeam. Mega Charizard X can M.Evolve, tank the HPump or Volt Switch, DD up, and sweep. Guts Conkeldurr (esp. with Assault Vest) doesn't give a damn about anything Rotom can do to it, since it tanks all attacks with AV and gets power boost off Will-o-Wisp. His moves are also REALLY predictable (if you have a Water type, he'll VSwitch - swap to a Ground type. If you have a Ground/Rock/Fire, swap to a Water resist or something with Water Absorb. If you have a physical attacker, he'll Will-O-Wisp - swap to a Fire type. Keep doing this until you get a SAFE switch into a desirable matchup, like your Exca vs. the Rotom). Rotom-W is a little **** that has had some huge impacts on the meta (for example, the main reason Gastrodon was brought to the limelight of OU was the fact that it hard-countered Rotom to every extent). Or, just swap in any Grass type faster than it. |

I love Rotom-W. With insane special stats and defense, this guy is the perfect wall. With his only weakness being the uncommon grass type (not including Mold Breaker EQ's) this guy is always seen on OU teams. With already good enough SP D, Will O Wisp helps this guy out a lot more by crippling physical attackers. He is also a good Trick+Choice Scarf user. He is, however, is countered by a Mold Breaker Mega Gyrados with Earthquake, and is also countered by Excadrill as well. If you are using one of these two Pokemon against Rotom W, it would be best to attack straight away before it can manage to burn you. |

Here's Smogon's BW set analysis: Porygon2 @ Eviolite Ability: Trace Bold / Calm Nature EVs: 252 HP / 176 Def / 80 SpD ~ Ice Beam ~ Discharge / Thunderbolt ~ Toxic / Thunder Wave ~ Recover This set takes Porygon2's immense bulk and makes it even more extreme. The goal of this variant of Porygon2 is to force switches and spread status by walling a wide variety of Pokemon. Its uninvested Special Attack stat and BoltBeam coverage are decent enough to maintain an offensive presence as well. Trace might sound like a stupid matrix operation, but it bolsters Porygon2's defensive capabilities by allowing it to "borrow" some great abilities from unsuspecting foes. Trace Magic Bounce to inflict Xatu with its own Toxic, or use Rhyperior's Solid Rock to sponge the attacks of its Fighting-type buddies more easily. Use Shaymin's Natural Cure to fix that time you switched into Toxic, or switch into the powerful Fire-type STABs of Chandelure, Houndoom, and Arcanine by copying their Flash Fire.

EDIT: Ah that was cool. I just watched a video where Porygon2 copied Gliscor's poison heal. Now I'm very comflicted. I also heard it can copy parental bond. Grr, I don't know what to do. It's a very tough decision for me. |

Kyogre Item: I use weakness policy. Could also give it damp stone Move: Aqua tail Thunder Icebeam/Muddywater/ Hidden power fire Earthquake 252 HP 4 ATK 252 SP.A Mild (+Sp.A -Def) Because of Kyogres abillity, and thunder cant miss in rain, Its a powerful pokemon, and can knock most tanks out. When hit by a weakness. Weakness policy adds 1.5X damage to attack and SP.A making it more of a threat. although the base Def stat gets low, it has a good Sp.D. Any suggestions to make Kyogre better? |
