It had the look of a SG movie, but it felt like a bad slice of life/school anime. Which is probably what they were going for, but I felt that the stuff about their father/s wasn't as emotional or interesting as the plots in other SG movies, and it wasn't enough to rescue the film from feeling like a rushed slice of life anime. Whisper of the Heart and Grave of the Fireflies are next for me.

~~~~~~ roughly 3 hours later: Whisper of the Heart was good. Similar to From Up on Poppy Hill in the way that it bares resemblance to slice of life and school anime, but differs in the way that it doesn't suck. It also avoided being a trashy teen romance, and provides nice insight into the world of junior high students. Spoiler
hey it double posted instead of merging into one radical |
Anyways you all should watch samurai flamenco, its about a young model who ever since he was young always wanted to be a hero and with the help of a police officer he becomes samurai flamenco. Its basicly just kick ass but an anime version but it is directed by the guy who made Baccano so WATCH IT |
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo This anime is a true masterpiece. I don't say it about things very often, but this anime really changed the way I look at life and is one of the best things I've ever seen. |
