Gani error.
I did a gun gani, I save it as gun.gani, I open the file in the Graal folder and it opens as idle.gani. Please tell me how to fix this, this is making me very angry.

Is there another idle.gani in the folder, or is placing this file in the folder replacing it? Making sure Graal isn't open while you edit the folder contents? Is there another gun.gani file instead? There's probably a hidden pattern.

might be something with your computers settings. try to drag the file onto the icon of the program (to open it that way) and than it should be fine. else there is an error within the file making the program "think" that you just put in a wrong file -> opens it as idle.gani

I figured it out, but don't know how to fix it. Whenever I add a custom sprite it turns to idle when opened, when I delete the custom sprite from the index and then reopen, it opens normally. |

If you alter your game's configuration file while the executable is open, the config file will just revert to the current in-game setting. That's just the default action the file takes in the situation. I'm guessing that manually adding a file to the cache while the executable is open results in this automatic action. Odd, but if you do your work while the game is not running and open to test it, it should work out just fine.

I now have Graal6 closed, but it still occurs, the problem is the fact that when I like add an already existent sprite e.g. Head Left anywhere then save and reopen it won't revert to idle.gani, however if I do this and add weapon123 left instead which is added manually to the index and all then reopen it reverts to idle.gani

I'm not entirely sure how the new v6 works, I still run v5.. ![]() However, I am assuming "weapon123 left" is already existent in-game. If you are adding a totally new function then no, it will not recognize the new weapon. When you alter your Graal folder, only you can see the changes you've made because your client will pull the new file out of the cache instead of the one provided by the server. (This is what some people did back on Classic iPhone with jail-broken devices.) On another note, weapons have scripted functions, and therefore may act differently than heads, bodies, shields, etc. Perhaps your new GANI is missing a link to another GANI that was previously tied to the first, and therefore they cannot interact, resulting in default action. I don't make .gani files, so I'm only taking a guess here.

I'm making something for Stroseria, someone sent me a .png image on skype he wants gani'd, I get the coords and everything, add image to the index, gani it completely, it works, I save it as x.gani, I open x.gani, it recognizes as idle.gani. ![]() I don't know if it's ok or not if I post it, as it's Stroseria related and I don't want to get fired for leakage. |

File issues, you should be fine. You leaked nothing. Below your name reads "Stroseria Gani Team." Maybe someone with more experience is able to help you from the team? I tried, but I bet the problem lies deeper than my knowledge of .gani files.. Sorry! x.X |

I asked Snurtle, Johan, Mattkan, nobody knows the answer. Like it's a gani which involves the grab gani, so I searched for the grab gani in my Graal folder, copied, pasted in Graal folder itself (not Graal/levels/ganis), changed name to x.gani, added 4 images which aren't related, saved, opened, it's idle.gani, however when I then started anew and redid the whole grab.gani with the added sprites, opened and it's still idle.gani. However when I deleted the 4 added images then open the own-made grab.gani it shows up as the own-made grab.gani, not idle. I think the image is fault, because I just added SPRITES and some random integers and got some random image, then added it, saved, reopened and the images are still there, no idle.gani or anything. |
