Messiah, if i'm not mistaken you are in Silence yeah? If so, you can't even pk any bases other than bank and bank is not as bad for boomeran spamming. "Standing out of range" might be the least useful bit of advice you could give, but i appreciate you trying. People with boomerangs will rush you, sure, they might take damage. They could be the noobiest dude with a boomerang but they can often guarantee SOME damage on you, no matter what you do (you likely don't delay so i don't really expect you to understand). If you want to chase me around with a gold boomerang, then go for it, you actually earned a difficult to obtain boomerang so it is fine that it's op. It would annoy me more if you chased me with an Xmas boomerang tbh.
Ispring, i get the idea of dodging to the side, i really do. But in practice, it just doesn't work if your ping is anything over 200ms. If you are awhiles away from the server like your's truly (literally the opposite side of the planet in relation to the server) then you might get a few ping drops/lag spikes, which also doesnt help. If the boomerang hitchecks were client-side like bullets then yes, i could easily dodge to the side, i use one of the most mobile weapons you can get, i could dodge anywhere.
For all you kind lurkers and unheard voices out there who might have skimmed through the section where the town criers turn yet another thread into "CoRrUpt StAfF talk" then congrats, you are back on the topic of this thread. If you are struggling with boomerangs like myself, i'll give some methods ive been using to deal with them the past couple of days. 1. They will always chase you, take advantage of this. I've been using a rustle shotgun and luring thrm into choke-points to buckshot their spammy asses off the face of the base, i then heal off any damage ive taken with food (food is very op, id recommend using it), you could also do this with a high damaging bow; sov, wood, crystal, etc.
2. This tip only really works in Bank from what i'm aware but it can mess up a boomerang user quite a bit. If you lure a boomerang guy over to the top left ladder in the flag room (where the people enter from the top), if you have Captain Boomerang throw his spinny guy at the ladder, it will scuff the hitbox. Instead of the boomerang instantly returning to them when they hit you, it will instead pass through you (you will take damage though), this stops them from spam hitting you into oblivion and limits the boomerang's capabilities ALOT! The messed up hitbox can be reset pre-death, but ill leave that for yous to figure out [^:
