A lot of franchises don't really allow for donations for various reasons such as them not wanting to be held liable if someone were to get sick from eating the food as well as the extra costs of having to give it to a shelter for the homeless. I'm not sure about this specific case and whether or not the franchise is allowed to donate, if they are however it's definitely laziness at its finest

There are laws in place to protect donators from being liable for any food poisoning. There are pickup services for food donations that are free.
