Hi, me and some friends came up with some good ideas for spar type things, that would encourage the community to play them.
First, the rewards for winning spars. Not very big things, but little things that would be easy to implement into the game. Weapon camo's persay. So for every 1k wins, a player would unlock some kind of cosmetic item that that could choose to put on their weapon. Then with every other thousand, they would unlock a increasingly better camo. For example, 1000 wins would get you a copper sword/knife, 2000 would be a Gold swirl along thr blade, 3000 would be a gold sword, 4000 would be a gold plated sword with spikes at handle, 5000 would be a saphire sword, 6000 as a emerald, 7000 as a ruby, 8000 as a obsidian color gem, 9000 would be diamond, and 10000 would be a completely spiked sword with every spike as a previous color. Most of these skins would be simple recolors, and would be easy to make.
Secondly, the biggest problem in melee sword is the spam factor. With Murusama, the easiest way to win is click the button as fast as you can, without moving. Do to the no hitback affect, the spar can be over within 2 secods of not moving. This is extremely unfair to new players, and even seasoned fighters. I propose, that you add some sort of knockback like in classic. This would reduce the spam level as you would hit them first, and they couldnt immediatly hit you back while your hitting them.
I would also like to put out that a practice spar would do wonders for the new players joining, as most get crushed as they have no idea what Izone spar is like. It would also promote more players sparring with skill, and make it a better experience for everyone.
Lastly, as this may or may not be added in the future, i would love to see some sort of squad sparring against eachother, with diffrent rooms allowing 2,3, and 5 players to verse eachother. This would be a great activity, with it promoting guild activities and communitys of sparrers, but with friends for practicing their skills. You could even add a tournament like GST in classic, which always manages to double the playercount for that weekend. Like the spar wins, a guild wins system could improve ratings, along as making rewards like every 500 guild wins or so of simple guild improvements, like a gold star in the status of the guild to show that they have accomplished something.
Thats just some ideas that would improve the game, and if admins were busy i would be glad to make the graphics or levels needed to implement this.
