I think osrs is the better game and so do most people.
Our dev team works closely with the community and don't make promises they can't make true unlike what the RS3 team has done several times in the past.
We also aren't used as a cashcow unlike RS3 with a ton of MTX involving xp boosts in-game and don't deal with things like double xp keeping the achievement in reaching 99's in skills to a higher standard which in turn makes it feel like an actual accomplishment.
OSRS also has community events where anyone can join in, may it be deadmanmode for 10k/20k$ prizes, design contests or even ideas for future content.
Oldschool runescape also takes the leads in streaming and has a bigger playerbase in general due to the game being more enjoyable to play and watch for most people.
Either way though, what you end up playing is mostly down to personal preference and just because one game is "better" doesn't mean the other one is bad.
I absolutely love how skills like dungeoneering work in RS3 and I even found divination to be enjoyable due to the socializing with people there along the way.
Both have their ups and downs and as long as you enjoy it who cares really, we're all part of the same journey in the end.
Also, ethacons opinion on RS3 is super outdated and quitting just because you need 10 more levels at a low level(which is easy & only would have taken like 1-2 hours at his level) just means runescape isn't for you in general.
Anyways, just reached 90 firemaking on osrs and also finally got my boots to complete the pyromancer outfit.
Will probably reach 99 fm in a week or so since it's one of the easiest/fastest skills.
Once that's done I'm probably going to do some quests to unlock Kudo's in the varrock museum til I have 100 for acces to fossil island.
I might have to get like 70 agility before I can really do anything on the island though, need to get full graceful for weight reduction when I plan to do the agility/hunter minigame there.
This stuff will probably take 2-4 weeks of continuous grinding
