I think that Islam will reform to modernize itself and practice equality. It's just going to take time, just like it did and is still doing with Christianity.
I'm not trying to attack you or anything but I wanted to give you a different point of view to the islamophobia being rational idea. So Chicago has huge numbers of shootings and killings each day by predominantly Aftican Americans, but I don't think that justifies being afraid of all African Americans

African americans commit a large percent of crimes in america
This is why police officers are quick to shoot african americans because they assume that their life is in danger because of the high probability due to the cripling welfare system which causes many african americans in to grow up without a father which increases the likelyhood of them being involved in crime.
I'm not saying this thaught process is a good one,its terrible to assume these kinds of things because of someones beleifs nationality or race but this is all based off primal human instincts.
The right aproach would be an eventual reform and assimilation of these cultures so they won't commit these crimes.
Hating on white people is easier though so we won't be seeing any of these changes soon.
