it's about inflicting pain, all animals capable of sensing pain shouldn't be eaten unless you overlook that for how good they taste

well atleast they don't think about their life and family members as they get slaughtered violently (hopefully)

well in the dairy industry, female cows are falsely impregnated so they will produce milk when they give birth. now of course the milk is meant for humans so they tear the calf away from its mother (who winds up dead for veal, leather, and so fourth) and the mother cow feels the separation as she becomes attached to her child much like a human does. they are known to bellow for several hours, even days, after her calf is taken from her.
