Not able to plan that far ahead yet, considering there may not be a Games IV unless the next games see significant improvement.

Idea: Spawn the outside sphere out of glass instead to let light though. Then use The plugin PreciousStones to make glass unbreakable!

There is a way to do this with the essentials program which is what we did in the first game. I'll most likely use regions for this, however, because I want the arena itself to be as vanilla as possible (no random unbreakable blocks). Think about it. Someone could lock them self in a glass cage and then where would we be?

I'll help with this. There is a plugin on bucket called PVP arena that lets everyone be in a lounge to begin and when the games start it warps everyone to spawn points. You can have 30+ spawn points, arranged around the Cornucopia.
