Do you? Not taxing the rich by a much higher percentage creates massive inequality within the economy, which obviously is bad for growth. Wealthy people also save a much higher percentage of their income compared to everyone else, this means less consumption and therefore less growth. Taxes redistribute the income through government spending which does create growth.

High taxes on the rich could also cause them to hide their money in other countries actually leave the country. It could also deter people from growth in business because they're taxed so much that it isn't worth it, which could hurt the economy and its growth.
In my opinion, taxes is one of the few stupid things to argue about on a level like this because taxes are too complex and are intertwined with too many things that every argument can be easily refuted. Arguing about the issue causes it to be simplified to the point where the argument is pointless.
