If you've ever used Android and iOS then make your choice based on which you prefer, not technical specs. When picking a phone between the two choices it will always come down to OS preference. I prefer Android because of the flexibility and choices I have with it, whereas a lot of people prefer iOS because it's simple--but that simplicity comes at a price when you can't customize anything.
Don't cave in to any biased suggestions such as that Android is "laggy" and "prone to viruses." Simply make the choice based on what you want out of a phone.
