Its not even that big a deal now, nobody goes up to people asking then how they like being gay and stuff, they just don't care.
Gay acceptance is pretty new and I'm honestly quite pleased with how most people are accommodated to it at this point.

So am I, but trust me when I say that people will always get asked questions when they come out, may it be one way or another. Even though people are much more accommodated to it now, like you said it is still a new thing so naturally people have questions (not that you can blame them for it).
And the fact that people are becoming more accepting could also be used as a reason as to why people feel compelled to come out more.
