What makes minecraft's magical horror element tick is that -unlike any other horror game- you have real, relocatable progress to loose. Its not a scripted event. Its actual things you collected and started on your will that are in danger of being destroyed. Theres no way to emulate that in a scripted event, and thats why, even though theres no gore or realism, minecraft can succeed an element of horror like no real horror game, or even movie, can imagine.
