I could see that-- that Trump is more of an opportunist. But that also concerns me, because his opportunist side doesn't seem to have restrictions. He seems willing to target a group of people just because it seems like a good opportunity, whether to stop terrorism or say things that aren't like what other politicians have been saying. I don't think this is a quality that is good for a leader, because it completely ignores the social issues this will create, which-- especially in the 21st century-- is warfare in its own right.
There will always be someone that gets the short end of the stick, and nobody will ever be completely happy, I get that. But with stakes as high as they are now, Trump needs to be asked at what costs do we alienate Muslims and immigrants? Electing Trump as President will send a message, but it'll send a message of discrimination and even violence. And Trump has never been the most diplomatic figure; he has always had disputes with many types of people. Our standing in the world may become very different from how it is now.
He is a gamble, and he is a protest canidate from how government is typically seen and run; but so far, I don't see more pro's than there are con's. His general sensitivity and compulsary "bottom line" responses to other canidates also concern me. It might be Rubio for this election, but it's not going to look good if Trump calls an actual world leader "sweaty and ugly." America is a first world country, and the strongest; as much as there is political BS in the world, we shouldn't have that kind of diplomacy. It could lead to really bad consequences on every front, considering the US needs world trade, not just our internal economy. And saying that Trump might clean up his act for when he's President is a gamble in itself.
With those odds, it's not the type of gamble I'd take.

I completely agree with everything you said. I wish there was a business person who doesn't deal with PC that was classy and diplomatic running for President, but there isn't. I like a lot of Trump's ideas, but he does publicize them for media attention a lot. He says he can be more diplomatic and Presidential for the general election, which I doubt, but I really wish he would be. I can't honestly vote for someone else, though, and think that they will actually differentiate themselves from the establishment and get stuff done. At least when I vote for Trump, I know there is a chance that he can get stuff done. That's why a lot of Trump supporters don't care what Trump does or says. They have unconditional support for him basically, and it mostly has to do with the establishment, rather than with Trump. That's my belief anyways.
