I don't agree with keeping the close option, but I see why Dusty would want it. Even though all it takes is for them to lift their finger once after opening the menu to figure out how it works, which I did since I didn't know you had to hold it there to keep it open.

It was added for a few reasons:
1) A failsafe for players who don't quite "get stuff." You'd be surprised how some players really just don't get it even when it's staring them right in the face. I've had to explain the obvious to players more than once. But that's not the only reason.
2) It looks dumb having just one option. Cancel button balances it out.
3) Failsafe in case the touch/mouse input gets locked and fails to recognize that you've let go. It can happen sometimes if new gui's steal input. If there were no cancel button you'd be stuck in that screen.

I wish there was a custom option to chose what the "hotkeys" are

It took me two days to get it to finally hook into the guild system to go straight to managing your current guild and other functions. Everything is like this on Classic. Everything is scripted to work precisely with the way the current gui's work, and not being able to access them remotely. To add other hotkeys I'd have to do this for almost all the functionality... it would take forever. Classic just wasn't scripted with modularity in mind.

Probably already been suggested, but can we get a hotkey for this similar to how PC users can press Q? E would be good
Edit: I guess it wouldn't be that great since you'll still need to use your mouse anyway

Would be nice to make the game more keyboard compliant for the flash users, but the overhaul that would require is massive. The game was made with touch-controls in mind from the beginning, and keyboard stuff shoehorned in at the last minute for flash. Even if we add keyboard support for stuff like this and even allow you to scroll through the quick-menu with the keyboard you'll inevitably encounter something that requires mouse input.
