I just always assumed the green gralats sometimes turning into bees was a glitch. So, my bad on that.
Bees come from gralats. If you see a gralat first and it turns into a bee it most likely lagged.
But regarding this whole thing, if that 0 never got "accidentally" changed to 100, bees would still be spawning. I don't believe there's any conspiracy here. Just another case of something that was functioning a certain way for a very long time being changed and us being told "that's how it was always intended".
There was no "accidental change." Bees were intended to not spawn during winter, but it was never implemented by whoever added them. I was told to fix it and in doing so accidentally implemented the wrong chance variable.
You can see this being frustrating for a lot of people who use bee farming as their main source of gralats. Especially with Xmas around the corner and everyone trying to save up for gifts.
It would be different if this was a glitch people were abusing and it was fixed. But that's not the case. A core gameplay element was altered. And knowing Toonslab, it does seem a little bit too coincidental that this would happen during a time when they know people are going to be dishing out money on gralat packs.
Administration had absolutely nothing to do with the change. If people are relying on bees so heavily for income then maybe they aren't properly balanced.
I've given Toonslab a lot of my money. Okay, so bees were never meant to spawn in winter. Fine. Then put in a new "winter" bug that functions the same way bees do. Problem solved.

Honestly there doesn't need to be justifications for tweaked/balance changes when it comes to how players earn gralats in-game. Things will always be adjusted as seen fit to properly balance the jobs. Though again, this has nothing to do with forcing players to buy gralat packs.
Just because you have given Toonslab money doesn't mean you should be able to earn gralats in-game faster. That doesn't make sense.
Given just how much blowback there is about bees disappearing, I'm getting the
slightest inkling that maybe players were earning way too much from them for whatever reason. But that's just a hunch.
